Why join OPERA?

  • Full members have priority access to all OPERA monthly seminar events and priority booking to our annual conference, while additionally having the option to invite a guest to our monthly seminars - Overseas members are entitled to attend two in person events per year.

  • Full members have priority booking access to our OPERA social events which we run frequently, our two main events being our Summer and Christmas social events with limited drinks included - excellent opportunities to get to know your fellow members and expand your network of industry contacts

  • Both overseas and full OPERA members have full access to our online library of presentations via the members area of our website.

  • At only £125 for full membership and £50 for overseas membership - with a £50 retiree membership available upon application for those who are not doing any active risk engineering survey work - OPERA memberships represent great value for money.

Who can apply for OPERA membership?

Membership is open to individuals in the following categories:

Engineers and surveyors in the insurance industry or related occupations whose work is significantly concerned with oil, gas and petrochemical risks. 

Insurance underwriters, brokers, risk managers and loss adjusters specialising in this field.

Such others as the Committee may determine.

How do I apply to be a member of OPERA?

If you are looking to join OPERA please click 'Apply for Membership' above - you will need to then create a Webcollect account and then you

will be able to submit an application for membership, subject to your application meeting the above criteria and providing details of 2 proposers who are current OPERA members.

OPERA will notify you whether your application has been accepted in due course and invite you to purchase your membership subscription.

How much does it cost for a membership?

OPERA Full Membership - £125.00 renewable in February annually - a £50 retiree membership option is available upon application for those who are not doing any active risk engineering survey work.

OPERA Overseas Membership - £50.00 renewable in February annually

OPERA Annual Conference attendance is charged at a competitive rate in addition to the membership fee above.
