Presenter Bio:
Patrick O’Rourke is the Subsea Cables Manager in the High Voltage Cables Department in ESB. Patrick started his career in 2005 with ESB. He has worked across a variety of business units within ESB including Subsea Cable Installation, Repair and Asset Maintenance. He is a specialist in the design, installation, repair and commissioning of Subsea Power and Fibre Optic Cable Systems and is experienced in the delivery of large scale subsea infrastructure projects from project initiation through to commercial close. Patrick is the lead inventor of an innovative seabed repair system which has been successfully deployed previously for repairing both AC and DC cable systems. The innovative subsea connector system facilitates a repair to be carried out on the seabed and dramatically reduces costs, repair duration, spares availability and specialist offshore spreads. The system also has application for HV Array Cable Connection/ Disconnection of Offshore Floating Wind Turbines.
